Last year, ASUS announced their first VR/AR focused handset, the Zenfone AR. The Zenfone AR is the second phone to feature Project Tango, Google’s Augmented Reality (AR) Platform. It also supports Google Daydream VR, making it the first smartphone to feature both AR and VR technologies by Google.
It will sport a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a now aging but still capable Snapdragon 821 chipset, either a 6GB or 8GB of RAM and a 23-megapixel camera with motion tracking and depth sensing technology. What caught everyone’s attention is the unique vapor cooling system that aims to rapidly cool down the phone as heat is expected to be produced during VR and AR use. Pundits alike are very eager to see the Zenfone VR on June 14th as ASUS will supposedly launch the product in Taiwan. Will this in anyway affect the sales of the OnePlus 5?
