Meet the most powerful console ever.

Microsoft just unveiled the latest member of the Xbox One lineup, the Xbox One X. Formerly known as Project Scorpio, experts hail it as the most powerful console ever, even more so than its closest competition, the PlayStation 4 Pro. Watch the world premiere below:

The Xbox One X tightly resembles the Xbox One and Microsoft claims their latest gaming console is the smallest Xbox ever. In that smaller body lies a custom 8-core AMD CPU clocked at 2.3GHz, a 6-teraflop 1.17GHz GPU and 12GB GGDR5 Video RAM. Microsoft says like the Xbox One, it is capable of delivering 4K resolution gaming with Dolby Atmos support. It will also have a UHD Blu-Ray drive, capable of playing 4K resolution videos, clearly making the Xbox One X a cut above the PS4 Pro.

Previous owners of the Xbox One need not worry as Xbox One accessories and games are supported. Microsoft hopes the XBox One X can help them regain the lead against Sony in the gaming console race. The Xbox One X is set to be on sale on November 7th for an initial price of $499, making it 100 dollars more expensive than the PS4 Pro when it was released last year. Rumor has it Sony might spoil the XBox One X party by reducing the price of the PS4 Pro. Let’s see how Microsoft counters that move. This is why we love competition.
