An electrical substation which powers the production plant complex of Samsung in North Vietnam has caught fire, significantly slowing down the operations. It couldn’t have come at a better time as Samsung is in full gear in the production of the Galaxy Note 8. Samsung Vietnam is trying to mitigate the situation by installing diesel-powered generators while the substation is undergoing repairs. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

It has yet to be determined how this impacts the Galaxy Note 8 production and distribution in the region. Normal operation of the plant is expected by August 10 at the earliest.
The highly anticipated successor to the infamous Galaxy Note 7 is scheduled for an unveiling on August 23 in the US.
